Past Events

The wine society has held many successful events over the years, including wine tasting evenings, wine workshops and extravagant parties. These events have been hugely popular, with guests enjoying the opportunity to sample and learn more about fine wines. Our events have also been attended by notable figures from the wine industry, giving attendees the chance to learn from the experts. We are proud of the great events we have held in the past and look forward to hosting more in the future.

2023 Christmas Ball

Our annual black-tie Christmas Ball was hosted in the glamorous Ghillie Dhu. Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner, served with some delicious wines, and enjoyed a night of dancing, festive music and laughter.

Champagne Party

Our guests enjoyed a luxurious champagne party where they were able to sample 6 of the finest champagnes, including 2010 Dom Pérignon, Charles Heidsieck, and Larmandier-Bernier. The evening was made even more enjoyable by the addition of a photo booth and a raffle with prizes up for grabs. Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed the evening immensely.

Fine Wine Masterclass with Michael Palij MW

A fine wine masterclass with Michael Palij MW, where we had the chance to taste eight exquisite wines, including Louis Roederer, Markus Mollitor, and Peter Lenhmann. It was a truly memorable event, and we are grateful to Michael for sharing his knowledge with us.

2022 Christmas Ball

The annual Christmas Ball was hosted in the luxurious The Scostman, with a stunning three course dinner, served with numerous wines. Guests were dressed in their finest black tie and enjoyed a night of festive music, dancing and laughter. After the dinner, the party moved to Why Not where guests continued to celebrate into the early hours.

Old Wines Workshop

Guests enjoyed tasting luxurious old wines to see if they really do stand the test of time - safe to say they all did! Guests indulged in 7 vintage wines including a 1990 Domaine de Pouvray, a 2000 Château Belair and a 1979 Quinta de la Rosa.

Draw the Label

Guests competed in teams to redesign the labels for the wines we drank. The competition was fierce! After much deliberation, the winning labels for each bottle were chosen and rewarded with a bottle of wine. It was a great experience for everyone involved, and the new labels captured the spirit of the wines perfectly.
